2013 Calendar
Donate to ICFJ and Get a Special Gift
You know the importance of supporting quality journalism worldwide. This year we have a very special gift for you. With a $50 donation, you will receive ICFJ’s 2013 Presidential Calendar featuring outstanding images by David Hume Kennerly, one of the top photojournalists of our era.
A Pulitzer Prize winner, Kennerly served as Gerald Ford’s White House photographer. His photos have graced the covers of Time and Newsweek no less than 35 times.
From Richard Nixon playing the piano at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry in 1974, to Michelle and Barack Obama spotting their official portraits at an inaugural ball in 2009, these photos span Kennerly’s remarkable career covering eight U.S. presidents.
These images evoke history, grace – and a bit of humor. Kennerly was there when, for the first time, five U.S. presidents gathered in the same place. He captured Bill Clinton intently reading a book on "How to Golf," apparently a key requirement for a sitting U.S. president. He caught George H.W. Bush making rabbit ears behind his wife, Barbara, and a pajama-clad Gerald Ford meeting with staff at a guest house during the first U.S. presidential visit to Japan.
Your contribution will be used to develop programs for international journalists who turn to ICFJ for assistance. On their behalf, we cannot thank you enough for your backing.
