On March 17, 2008, a local Indonesian newspaper, Tribun Pekanbaru, launched the country's first environment supplement. The weekly section featured an investigative story uncovering a startling lack of sanitary disposal policies for hospital waste and other breaking stories. The section was a result of Knight International Fellow Harry Surjadi's hands-on work with local journalists.
