Persian: Business and Economic Reporting Modules
ICFJ has developed four training modules on business and economic reporting in Persian. These self-study courses engage participants in interactive learning activities at their own convenience. The first module, "An Introduction to Business Reporting and Writing" was launched in May 2008. ICFJ has recently launched the second online business and economic reporting courses in Persian.

The first course covers:
- Writing business stories that emphasize the human element
- Finding local, relevant story ideas in every sector of the economy
- Developing reliable sources for business news
- Avoiding and resolving ethical dilemmas
The second course covers:

Economic terms and trends such as GDP, Trade balance, exports and imports.
- Banking and credit sectors
- Foreign investment
- Privatization
Two additional modules will focus on economic international financial mechanisms and comprehensive multi-sourced business stories.

About the instructor
ICFJ's Persian business courses have been developed by Margie Freaney. Ms. Freaney spent 35 years as a newspaper reporter and editor, including positions as editor of the Baltimore Business Journal and executive editor of the Atlanta Business Chronicle. She now works as an international journalism trainer, with the International Center for Journalists and other organizations. She was founding academic director and is currently adjunct faculty for the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management in Tbilisi, Georgia.
