Online Courses

ICFJ is supporting journalists all over the world with free online courses on a range of topics, including digital journalism, investigative reporting and business and economics.

Whether it is instructor-led or self-taught , ICFJ's Online Courses offers practical training, aimed to help novice and more experienced journalists worldwide.

Courses are also offered in a variety of languages including English, Spanish, Persian and Arabic.

Turkish journalists are invited to participate in a six-week online course, entitled “Introduction to Ethics of Digital Journalism.” Deadline to apply is September 24.

The course, which will run from October 1 to November 12 in Turkish, will discuss the ethical challenges digital journalists face, and provide guidelines and ethical decision-making models to help media practitioners make sense of this new universe of information.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) will offer two online courses for community radio journalists this summer. The courses are free and will take place in July and August. The deadline to apply is June 15 for the July course. The courses will be conducted in Spanish and are intended for community radio journalists from the US and from Latin America who are interested in learning new digital tools.   Read More...

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ)  is currently offering two online courses for U.S. journalists on using multimedia tools. The courses are for Hispanic and minority journalists in the U.S., and will be conducted in English and Spanish. They will focus on a variety of multimedia offerings – from audio slideshows to Google mash-ups to data visualization tools. The four week courses will have a special focus on using multimedia and digital tools to cover personal finance issues, and will start on June 28 and last until July 21. The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is offering an online course on journalism ethics from August 6 to September 17. Deadline to apply is July 30.

Using ICFJ’s resources, including a comprehensive handbook entitled "Journalism Ethics: The Global Debate," participants will examine a number of global case studies examining media independence, accuracy, fairness, freedom and responsibility that have resonance in Turkey.

As part of the Escucha! Taking Community Radio Digital in the Americas program, ICFJ will offer two online courses to train community, each for 25 Hispanic journalists . The courses will incorporate the materials covered during the conference, which will extend the benefits of that training to a multitude of journalists who did not attend.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is now offering two online courses in English and Spanish on covering personal finance for Hispanic journalists and US journalists covering finance issues for minority and immigrant communities. The courses are scheduled to start on April 16 and end on July 28.
