The Arthur F. Burns Fellowship Program

Deadline for U.S. Applicants: March 1
Deadline for German Applicants: February 1
A two-month (August-September) working fellowship for young German and American print and broadcast journalists. Ten participants from each country work at counterpart news organizations. Travel expenses and a stipend are provided. Funded by private-sector grants. Applicants should be working journalists in any news media with demonstrated journalistic talent and an interest in U.S.-European affairs.

The Knight International Journalism Fellowships

  These fellowships stimulate and nurture transformational change in journalists, media and societies around the world.  The program sends international media professionals to key countries where there are opportunities for meaningful and measurable change. Working with partner organizations on high-impact projects, they build skills and enhance the standards of independent news organizations. By raising professional journalism practices worldwide, Knight International helps media make societies more accountable to their citizens.

U.S.-Austrian Journalism Exchange Fellowships

Four outstanding media professionals from the United States and Austria are awarded an opportunity to report from and travel in each other's countries as part of the U.S.-Austrian Journalism Fellowships. The program offers two young print and broadcast journalists from each country the opportunity to share professional expertise with their colleagues across the Atlantic while working as "foreign correspondents" for their hometown news organizations. The program aims to foster greater understanding and knowledge of both countries among future media leaders and their audiences.
