Casey Hynes is an independent journalist and a regular contributor to Forbes Asia, writing about tech, entrepreneurship and development in Southeast Asia. She has contributed freelance features to The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, South China Morning Post and other outlets. While living in Thailand from 2010 to 2014, she covered human rights in Southeast Asia and the emerging tech scene in Myanmar. She holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University and worked at Roll Call before moving overseas. Hynes was a 2015 Emerging Journalist Fellow with the Journalism and Women Symposium.
