Jody McPhillips is a Knight International Journalism Fellow who launched a non-profit education center in Delhi that combined cutting-edge, hands-on journalism instruction with the highest international standards.
Phillips worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for nearly three decades, covering a wide variety of beats including medicine, law, politics, government and social issues. She covered Congress and national issues during four years in the Providence Journal’s Washington bureau.
After two years as a reporter and editor at The Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh, McPhillips was a Knight International Journalism Fellow in the Republic of Georgia. In Georgia, she taught at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management, worked with regional reporters and founded the Caucasus Investigative Reporting Center. After that, she taught journalism in Aceh, Indonesia, and worked with reporters, editors and university students in Dili, East Timor.
