Resident Lecturer

Specializing in economics journalism, Gregg Fields is currently serving as a resident lecturer at the Tsinghua University in Beijing, China for the English-language Global Business Journalism program. Besides Tsinghua, the program is sponsored by Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg News, Deloitte and the Knight Foundation. It is coordinated from Washington by the International Center for Journalists.

The Global Business Journalism program at Tsinghua is a golden opportunity to teach the primacy of principles that underlie the U.S. economy. Fields is a firm believer in concepts like transparency, free markets, public ownership of companies, and fiduciary responsibility.

Fields has run the master’s program in business journalism at Florida International University for the past couple of years.

He was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in the 2005-06 academic year at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University, where he also earned a master’s degree in financial journalism. He also has a master’s degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where his concentration was public policy economics.
