The Kuratorium für Journalistenausbildung (KfJ), a private association founded 1978 by Austria’s Newspaper and Periodical Publishers’ Associations and the Austrian Journalists' Union, is Austria’s only institution offering basic and mid-career training for journalists in Austria. In 1994, KfJ added the Austrian Media Academy offering short- and long-term courses to working journalists in Austria. |

The International Center for Journalists was founded in 1984 as an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of journalism worldwide, especially in countries with little or no tradition of an independent press. The Center is committed to working with colleagues around the globe to: share journalistic, managerial and technical expertise; provide the latest information on media developments, journalism ethics and professional practices; offer support services relevant to changing needs; and encourage vital and independent media that are professionally, ethically and financially grounded. |
