With Impacto, Newsrooms Can Show, Not Just Tell, Why Their Work Matters

News organizations eager to earn their communities’ trust and grow their revenue have a powerful new set of tools at their disposal: the Impacto platform. ICFJ Knight Fellow Pedro Burgos this week in Sao Paulo launched a public version of Impacto, a project backed by the Google News Initiative, which helps newsrooms and journalists better track, understand and demonstrate the impact of their reporting on communities and society.

Google News Initiative Supports ICFJ's Large-Scale Digital Program in Mideast

Google announced during its first Google News Initiative event in Dubai today a large-scale effort to offer digital skills trainings to thousands of journalists across the MENA region. In partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and its IJNet Arabic service, trainings will focus on digital tools to gather and source information, enhance trust and verification, and support data-driven journalism and immersive storytelling.

ICFJ Earns Highest Possible Rating from Leading Charity Evaluator

Charity Navigator, the largest independent charity evaluator in the U.S., has given the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) a four-star rating for the eighth year in a row. This is the highest possible rating and it puts ICFJ in the top 2 percent of nonprofits evaluated, said Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator.
