ICFJ Celebrates 25 Years of Raising Journalism Standards Worldwide
For 25 years our organization has helped journalists all over the world keep their citizens informed and engaged. Twenty-five years ago, three men made a commitment to help their colleagues around the world. They were Tom Winship, the editor of The Boston Globe; Jim Ewing, the publisher of the Keene Sentinel in New Hampshire; and George Krimsky, a longtime journalist at the Associated Press. They realized in the mid-80s that huge changes were taking place. Journalists in countries without a free press were slowly gaining the ability to question authority.
