ICFJ Professional Fellows from Latin America, Spring 2015

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) completed the first phase of its four-part ECA program: bringing 16 fellows from Latin America to the U.S. for a four-week program in May and June 2015. This included an orientation at ICFJ's headquarters in Washington D.C., a three-week internship at a U.S. digital communication organization and finally joining other Professional fellows at the State Department's Professional Fellows Congress.

ICFJ matched to the fellows to organizations based on their expertise and interests, placing them in newsrooms including AJ+ in the San Francisco Bay area; the EarthFix network in Portland and Seattle; The Miami Herald; Splash Media Group, Dallas, Texas; Circa, in both New York and San Francisco; HereMedia in Los Angeles; Mother Jones in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco; Slate in Washington, D.C. and Fusion in Miami.

As part of the State Department's Professional Fellows Congress, the fellows put together a short video about their experiences at their host media organizations.
