IJE participant thinks newspapers will survive by exercising community journalism
A year ago, Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernández Duarte gave herself a goal: to get closer to local communities, believing that strong newspapers are the ones that become part of citizen’s every-day lives. A year later, she is more certain of her vision and knows that newspapers will overcome difficult times only if they look at big-news’ impact through the eyes of everyday people.
