Tunisian Journalist Establishes Student Fact-Checking Network

Journalism students and professors established a student fact-checking network spanning the Middle East and North Africa that equips young people with the necessary skills to combat misinformation, as part of a project supported by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and led by Syrine Abidi.

A New Opportunity for Journalists to Investigate Election Disinformation

This support comes as political campaigns kick off in dozens of countries across the world, with billions of people slated to take to the polls in 2024 for landmark elections – including in the U.S., India and Mexico.

Nine MENA Startups Aim to Grow their News Ventures with Funding Boost

Over the past six months, 16 early-stage digital news outlets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) received training and intensive coaching through the Google News Initiative Startups Lab in MENA, led by Google News Initiative, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and MADRAJ. Now, nine of them will receive funding to support their projects.
