The Knight International team has revamped the Fellowship program's Website. The home page has been streamlined and we have great new features including new pages with descriptions of the Fellowship projects. Also, we are soliciting nominations for the 2009 Knight International Journalism Awards. The Awards recognize media professionals worldwide who have taken bold steps to keep citizens informed despite great obstacles. Past recipients include pioneering correspondents who have exposed government corruption, war crimes and other important stories. The award has honored crusading publishers determined to maintain their independence despite enormous political and financial pressures, and citizen journalists who have risked detention and faced harassment to report on police abuse. Each year, the International Center for Journalists Awards Dinner honors the achievements of the winners. This year's dinner will be held in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 12, 2009. We look forward to receiving your nominations. The deadline for nominations is April 13, 2009.
