The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the way that information is collected and used on www.icfj.org (“the Web site”). By submitting information via the Web site, you agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions of the Web site.

In the event that ICFJ changes this Privacy Policy, the changes will be updated and the effective date will be revised accordingly.

Collection and Use of Personal and Anonymous Information

Visitors to the Web site may access information while remaining anonymous. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to view the Web site. There are occasions when you will be asked for additional information. This is in response to materials or services you request. For example, contact information will be requested when you order materials offered on the Web site or sign up for a newsletter. We may also use this information to contact you in the future with additional information that may be of interest to you. Further, information is collected if you submit an application for a fellowship (“Application Information”). We will use this information to process your application and administer the fellowship. We may also use this information to contact you with information that may be of interest to you.

We may also use cookies to monitor traffic on the Web site. This will help us better develop the Web site and tailor it to the needs of our visitors. The Web site may collect information through IP addresses or demographic variables. ICFJ does not share information collected on the Web site with third parties. The one exception to that general principle is that ICFJ will share information with business partners (such as Web site hosting companies) to provide you with services or information pertaining to ICFJ.

Opt-Out

You may request that we delete your information or refrain from contacting you further by sending us an e-mail to this address: editor@icfj.org. Please note that this opt-out policy does not apply to Application Information, and that it may not be possible to delete all copies of the information as some of it may be contained on backup disks or in legally required records. Nevertheless, we will strive to honor your request to the best of our ability.

Security

The Web site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. No system is impenetrable, however, and ICFJ cannot guarantee absolute security of the information in our possession.

All credit card transactions are conducted over a secure server. If you do not wish to transact online, feel free to order the materials by mail or telephone.
