Amal Azimova recently graduated from Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver with a master’s degree in international studies. She specialized in democratization theory with a regional focus on the Middle East and Eurasia.
Before joining ICFJ’s programs team, she interned at Development Transformations and the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center. Amal is originally from Uzbekistan and lived in the United Arab Emirates, where she acquired a bachelor’s in international affairs from the American University of Sharjah. Her professional experience includes conducting research for Human Rights Watch, UNHCR, and WFUNA. She is fluent in Russian, Uzbek and English.
