In partnership with The Institute of Press and Information Sciences (IPSI) at the University of Manouba in Manouba, Tunisia, ICFJ is implementing an internship program for Tunisian master’s degree journalism students. The internship program’s goal
The selected students begin their program with a visit to Washington, D.C., for an intensive three-day training on topics including ethics in journalism, digital tools, investigative reporting, and an overview of the U.S. media system. Students then travel across the United States to different news organizations that host them for 17-day internships. Before returning to Tunisia, the students gather in Washington, D.C, to discuss their U.S.. experiences.
The program is part of ICFJ’s effort to train the next generation of Tunisian media professionals and expose them to the the latest skills and tools employed by U.S. journalists and media outlets. The program is possible thanks to the support of the US Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia.
