A New Day for Ethanol in Louisiana
While working as a business reporter for The (Lafayette) Daily Advertiser, Bob Moser traveled around the state of São Paulo, Brazil, for two weeks in August 2007. He visited the world´s most successful sugar cane and ethanol producers, hoping to offer insight and context to Louisiana´s budding sugarcane-ethanol industry. His 14-story series, "A New Day for Ethanol in Louisiana," appeared Nov. 1-4, 2007, in The Daily Advertiser and its sister newspapers throughout Louisiana. His work won first place for interpretive story/series that year in the Associated Press Managing Editors (APME) Louisiana/Mississippi region. Moser later moved to São Paulo in June 2008, where he now teaches English as a second language and does freelance reporting for U.S. newspapers and magazines.
