Alexsandra Canedo

Program Officer

In her role as Program Officer, Alexsandra Canedo provides support to several grants, particularly under the umbrella of the Investigative Reporting Initiative in the Americas (IRIA). To support this initiative, Canedo manages various small grants, provides logistical and administrative assistance to carry out workshops and conferences in the region, as well as helps compile compelling data for reports.

Canedo’s experience supporting the communications, research and publications team at Sisters in Islam, a nongovernmental organization based in Malaysia, inspired her to support ICFJ’s mission to promote and strengthen transparency, as well as provide holistic training to journalists across the globe.

Canedo received her master’s degree in international relations at American University, and her joint bachelor’s degree, in political science and women and gender studies, at California State University, Fullerton.
