Chanté Russell is responsible for providing support to ICFJ program staff in planning and implementing of programs for journalists around the world. Her role includes assistance with program finances, logistics, content and management.
Russell is a Raleigh, North Carolina, native and a recent graduate of Howard University where she studied media, journalism and film with a concentration on print journalism. While studying, she spent two years serving as managing editor of The Hilltop and held internships in communications, print journalism and broadcast journalism.
As a journalist, she’s passionate about fashion and culture reporting. She is a strong believer in citizen focused journalism and first joined ICFJ as a program intern to support journalists globally in their efforts to serve their communities.
