Chanté Russell

Program Assistant

My goal as a writer has always been to tell stories that matter to me and that serve my community. As a program assistant at ICFJ, I provide support in the planning and implementation of a variety of programs in various regions around the globe, allowing me to also help many of my fellow journalists achieve this goal. My duties include assistance with program finances, logistics, content and management.

My background: I am an alumna of Howard University where I studied media, journalism and film with a concentration in print journalism and served as managing editor of the award-winning, student-run newspaper The Hilltop. During my time as an undergraduate student I also held internships in journalism and communications at VICE News, Walker’s Legacy, The Carolinian and ICFJ, where I began as a program intern.
