Erin Stock

I knew early on I wanted to pursue a career that would help others. I also recognized the power of the pen to expose injustice and make positive change. That led me to ICFJ, where I have the opportunity to support the work of brave and enterprising journalists across the world. I oversee ICFJ's overall communications strategy, including media relations and digital communications.

My background: My experience includes a mix of journalism and nonprofit communications. As a journalist, I have covered stories in the U.S. and internationally, writing for The Birmingham News, the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, the Orange County Register, IRIN (the former humanitarian news service for the UN), and Ecuador’s La Hora. As a communications professional, I have led video projects, redesigned newsletter programs, spearheaded social media and forged content partnerships for organizations including the World Bank, CGAP, 1,000 Days, InterAction and Nuba Reports, a journalism nonprofit covering Sudan’s under-reported stories.

I have a master’s in public service from the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas, and a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.
