As the IJNet English and Engagement Editor, Taylor Mulcahey is responsible for IJNet’s English-language content, social media and audience engagement.
Mulcahey graduated in 2016 from the University of Pittsburgh, where she studied political science and international and area studies, with a focus on women’s issues and the MENA region.
She became interested in international journalism and creative storytelling while studying abroad in Tunisia. While there, Mulcahey worked with bloggers and citizen journalists to explore the role of new media in the 2011 revolution and the post-revolution feminist movement.
Mulcahey has worked as a staff writer for The Pitt News and as writer and editor for The Fourth Wave. She believes that empowering storytellers with new tools and techniques is critical for countering dominant narratives and increasing the diversity of voices in media.
