After five years abroad, Tedi Doychinova recently joined ICFJ as a Program Officer. She is currently working on several cultural exchange and media innovation programs such as the European Media Study Tour Examining Chinese Influence in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her interests lay in empowering women and ensuring the rights of journalists in the Middle East.
Prior to joining ICFJ, Tedi worked remotely as a freelancer and teacher in Europe. With its energetically charged atmosphere and serene Bosphorous skyline, Istanbul will always be a second home. Teaching professionals and children communication skills taught her that confidence in self-expression can be a powerful tool.
Tedi graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in International Relations and a specialization in International Law & Organizations. Her first position after graduation was a service year with AmeriCorps Vista in Louisville, Kentucky. She got her first taste of reporting as a community news intern at the Herald Tribune. Since then, she has been devouring investigative pieces and is happy to see the growing interest in solutions journalism. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, she is fluent in Bulgarian and English.
Tedi is happy to connect and answer questions at email@example.com.
