Usman Ghafoor

Usman Ghafoor is a journalist and a budding film maker based in Lahore. He currently works as Assistant Editor (Magazine section) at The News International, Pakistan’s leading English daily. Previously, he has contributed features for such well-reputed national and international journals as Khaleej Times, Times of India, BBC South Asia Online, Dawn, The Herald, The Nation and The Frontier Post. His feature subjects have varied — from education and health to culture and performing arts. He now regularly posts his articles online on usmanghafoor.wordpress.com. He has a Master’s in English Literature from Government College University (GCU). He also recently finished a Diploma program on Film Production at National College of Arts (NCA) before joining Team Bol, a top-league film maker Shoaib Mansoor’s latest blockbuster, as a Production & Casting Assistant. He is also on the Film Jury of LUX Style Awards, the country’s premier film, TV and fashion awards event.
