Mike O'Connor Scholarship for Mexican Journalists

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) invites Mexican journalists living in Mexico to apply for the Mike O’Connor Scholarship for Investigative Journalism. This scholarship, financed by the United States Embassy in Mexico, is dedicated to the memory of Mike O’Connor, American investigative journalist who worked tirelessly to protect Mexican journalists as part of his work for the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).

Russia-U.S. Young Media Professionals Exchange Program

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) invites young, English-speaking journalists from Russia to take part in the “Russia-U.S. Young Media Professionals Program.” Five journalists, who will be selected in competition, will come to the United States for a program from Monday, August 3, to Friday, August 21, 2015. Applicants must speak English.

Dow Jones Chicas Poderosas Fellowships

Women in the developing world face great challenges breaking into IT and taking on leadership roles in the field – especially in news technology and design. Chicas Poderosas is addressing this challenge by helping to bring Latina women in the Americas into the forefront of digital journalism.

Created in 2013 by visual storyteller Mariana Santos as part of her ICFJ Knight Fellowship, the Chicas Poderosas movement aims to increase the number of Latina women working directly with newsroom technology.

Community Health Reporting Fellowship

The Community Health Reporting Fellowship gives U.S. journalists and bloggers who cover minority, low-income and rural communities the skills to better produce useful multimedia health news and information on such topics as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, HIV/AIDs and cancer – diseases that disproportionately affect these populations.

Back In The Newsroom Fellowship 2015

Building on the success of the 2014 program, ICFJ will host a new round of Back in the Newsroom Fellowships in 2015. In its first year, the program placed five journalism professors from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in cutting-edge newsrooms for the summer.

Iraqi-U.S. Journalism Exchange

The Iraqi-U.S. Journalism Exchange program took place over 22-days in Washington, D.C., Houston, Austin and New York City. In this program, 10 selected Iraqi journalists were introduced to American media professionals and experts in the realms of politics, digital media, transparency and civil society. The group also had the opportunity to design community reporting projects or evidence-based opinion pieces that focused on topics of interest to their communities and could bring more transparency and accountability to local government activities.
