Christine Glancey, deputy managing editor for news operations and talent at The Wall Street Journal, has joined the ICFJ Board of Directors.

Glancey brings to the board her deep knowledge of the news industry and newsroom training gained from nearly thirty years at The Journal. In her current role, which she took on in 2015, she is responsible for the global newsroom budget, operations, talent management and training.

“We’re thrilled to have Christine Glancey join the ICFJ Board,” said ICFJ President Joyce Barnathan. “Her experience in global news management will give her unique insight on how ICFJ can achieve its mission: to equip reporters and newsrooms with the skills and tools needed to produce high-quality, cutting-edge journalism.”

Previously, Glancey served from 2013 to 2015 as training editor for The Journal’s staff of 1,800. She created and implemented global training across the newsroom, educating staff about a wide range of topics, including digital media skills.

From 2009 to 2013, she was senior news editor and deputy managing editor for WSJ.com. She managed day-to-day publishing, led news integration and web training efforts, and helped define and execute online strategy for the nation’s largest newspaper.

She served from 2007 to 2009 as the news organization’s top editor in Hong Kong, where she was responsible for publishing The Wall Street Journal’s Asia edition. Before moving to Hong Kong, she spent four years as the paper's global copy chief. She also previously held the positions of deputy national editor, technology editor, Washington and economics editor, night editor, CNBC broadcast news editor and copy editor.
