Cathy Senay

2016 ICFJ-United Nations Foundation Reporting Fellow

Cathy Senay has been a reporter with Radio-Canada (CBC’s francophone section) since 2001. While pursuing her studies, she worked in the U.N. system in Kenya and Argentina and with the U.N. Association in Canada. In 2001, Senay started her work as journalist in Western Canada (Saskatchewan and Alberta), then in Quebec City. She covered current affairs throughout her career and also focused extensively on military issues, including the war in Afghanistan where she traveled with Radio-Canada in 2008. She is passionate about developments on the international scene and their ties with regional and national challenges. Senay has a keen interest in global issues and ensuring their local relevance is well understood. Senay, a native of Canada, is fluent in French and English and proficient in Spanish.
