Maria Clara Vieira

Maria Clara Vieira is an assistant editor at Revista Crescer, Brazil’s largest parenting magazine. She covers health and social issues related to families and children. Last year, she created the Cabeça & Coração (Head & Heart) website where she writes about families whose children were born with microcephaly caused by the Zika virus. Vieira recently visited Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco, two cities that have recorded a large number of Zika cases. She interviewed 10 women whose babies were born with microcephaly. Her 14-page report is featured in the September issue of Revista Crescer. Vieira also is pursuing her Master's degree in Communication at the Universidade de São Paulo.
