The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) this week announced that Julie Pace, senior vice president and executive editor of The Associated Press, has joined its Board of Directors.
Pace leads AP’s global news coverage, overseeing a team reporting across over 100 countries. Under her leadership, AP has significantly increased its digital news offerings for media and technology customers, along with its direct-to-consumer platforms. Since the beginning of Pace’s tenure in 2021, AP has also expanded its use of AI technologies to enhance its product offerings, while maintaining its deep commitment to eyewitness journalism and fact-based, nonpartisan news.
Pace was previously Washington bureau chief and White House correspondent for AP. She joined the organization in 2007 as a multimedia reporter after working for South Africa’s only independent television network and for Tampa Tribune and its partner television station WFLA. Pace won the White House Correspondents’ Association Merriman Smith award in 2013.
