Leon Lidigu is a global health and infectious diseases journalist at Nation Media Group in Nairobi, Kenya. He previously worked for Ebru TV Kenya. Lidigu graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pacific University, India with a degree in journalism. Lidigu is passionate about health, food, investigations, geopolitics, children, digital disruption, and the future of journalism.
In 2021 he won the ICFJ Global Nutrition and Food Security Reporting Contest for a story on how many of the students in Kibera are only fed while at school because their parents can’t afford to feed them at home.
Through the ICFJ Global Nutrition and Food Security Reporting Fellowship, Leon Lidigu produced a story about how Kenya’s malnutrition crisis requires immediate attention, but government policy isn’t helping and a troubling report on malnutrition in the country.
