Maria Silvia Trigo

Maria Silvia Trigo is a freelance journalist focused on politics, democracy, polarization, and misinformation.

She often writes about politics and covers major breaking news for national and international media outlets. She is currently working for Infobae and is a stringer for The New York Times in Bolivia.

Previously, she served as Chief Editor of Bolivia Verifica, the country's primary fact-checking media outlet, and as Digital Editor of El Deber newspaper.

She has co-authored two books and is co-founder of the Feminist Journalism Network in Bolivia. In 2024, she received a medal for Outstanding Journalist of the New Generations, awarded by The National Press Association.
