Marwa Sabry

Marwa Sabry was a 2014 ICFJ Professional Fellow from the Middle East, on the program "Unlocking the Economic Potential of Digital Media." She applies her skills in communication, computer programming, social media and organizing toward her interests in social issues and civil society networking. Sabry was an editor and marketing consultant for the advertising firm BrandMoxie in Abu Dhabi’s Twofour54 Media Zone in 2010 and 2011 as well as writing about events in the UAE for Tempo magazine. She has worked for the multinational mobile phone service company Etisalat in sales, public relations and communication, helping to relaunch the company’s social media presence with engaging content coordinated with marketing campaigns. She has additional experience in public relations for Cubicx of Egypt. In 2013 she began working for the event organizing firm Reed Exhibitions as a writer, translator, and media buyer, assisting in staging international events on energy, aviation, and security. Sabry is currently news editor for 24 Media Studies which runs the popular news website www.24.ae. Sabry holds a bachelor’s in human and social sciences from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
