ICFJ Welcomes David Merritt of Bloomberg to Its Board

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) this week announced that David Merritt, the head of media editorial at Bloomberg, has joined its Board of Directors.

Merritt currently oversees consumer-facing platforms at Bloomberg in New York, including TV, radio, digital, magazines and events. His career there spans more than two decades in key leadership roles across three continents.

He previously directed coverage for Europe, the Middle East and Africa as senior executive editor in London and served as senior executive editor for Asia Pacific, where he managed 26 bureaus and more than 450 staff. Merritt’s international experience also includes time as managing editor for South Asia in Mumbai and leading the European stocks and speed teams.

“We are delighted to welcome David Merritt, a veteran global journalist and editorial leader, to our board,” said Carrie Budoff Brown, chair of the ICFJ Board of Directors and executive editor and executive vice president at Politico Europe. “His vast experience overseeing complex, international news operations gives him a unique perspective that will be valuable to ICFJ’s mission of supporting journalists worldwide.”
