Amira Karaoud

Multi-Media Journalist & Cultural Anthropologist, USA

Amira Karaoud is a visual journalist and audio producer based between the U.S. and Tunisia. Karaoud explores the impacts of globalization, war and conflicts, and social and environmental issues on communities often underrepresented in the media. Her images, photo essays and projects have appeared in Reuters, Reuters TV, the Washington Post, the New York Times, Bloomberg, PBS, CNN, and the Jerusalem Post.

Through the ICFJ Global Nutrition and Food Security Reporting Fellowship, Amira Karaoud wrote a story about how drought and climate change fuel malnutrition in Nigeria and Tunisia. Read here.
