As editor in chief of Correio Braziliense, Costa writes a weekly column on politics, culture, economy and other relevant issues. She also coordinates investigations on international issues related to diplomacy, culture, and politics. Before joining Correio in 1997, Costa worked as a special reporter and editor for Jornal de Brasília. Costa received awards such as Troféu Mulher Imprensa, Prêmio Esso de Jornalismo, and Prêmio Ayrton Senna de Jornalismo for several of her reports.

Costa graduated with a degree in journalism from the Universidade Católica de Pernambuco in 1985 and received a master’s degree in journalism for editors from the Universidade de Navarra in 2000.
