Ramalho’s main area of expertise is energy, but he has acquired vast experience covering politics and economy since he joined Valor Econômico. Ramalho was chosen by Valor Econômico to cover the 2014 elections in Brazil, the Latin American Air and Defense Show (LAAD), the Rio Oil and Gas show, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), the Underwater Technology Conference in Norway, and the 2016 Olympics. In the academic world, Ramalho conducted research on the use of new technologies as part of participatory democracy at the Chamber of Deputies. Also, his research examines the use of new information and communication technologies as part of school curricula.
Ralmalho won an award for being one of the most important journalists for the clean energy sector from Negócios da Comunicação (Communication Business), a magazine in Brazil, for three consecutive years. Ramalho graduated in journalism from Universidade Federal Fluminense in 2012, and has a degree in governmental management and public policy evaluation from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
