Judah Robinson

Judah Robinson is a Bringing Home the World fellow in 2019.

Judah is a video journalist and producer for NowThis based in New York City. He strives to cover international stories in an engaging way for young adults – by providing insightful context into current events, while also humanizing global issues.

His previous reporting has focused on international news, including humanitarian and refugee issues. Before joining NowThis in 2016, he worked for HuffPost and interned for Al Jazeera English’s documentary series, Fault Lines, in Washington D.C.

He is excited for this opportunity to report from the field through this fellowship, on a story that will explore what is means to be both queer and a refugee.

Project: Judah will report on LGBTQ+ Iranian refugees who’ve fled to Turkey – a place where many still face hatred and violence because of their queer identities. This video report will intimately explore how they are coping with this reality, as their goal of resettlement somewhere more tolerant becomes further out of reach, in part due to recent U.S. policy.
