Justina Asishana

Justina Asishana is a Nigerian journalist who lives and works in Niger state as the state correspondent for the Nation. She previously worked at the News Nigerian newspaper and Daily NewsWatch newspaper as the Niger state correspondent. She also freelances for some African and international media organizations.

Asishana is passionate about data, human interest issues, transparency, and governance. Over the years, she has won a variety of awards and fellowships. In 2021, she was Africa Media Development Foundation’s Journalist of the Year.

Through the ICFJ Global Nutrition and Food Security Reporting Fellowship, Justina Asishana wrote a story about how food taboos foment malnutrition in Africa and South Asia. Read here.
