Remembering Rodman Moorhead, Longtime Supporter of ICFJ’s Network

By: ICFJ | 12/18/2024

The International Center for Journalists has lost a dedicated champion with the passing of veteran board director Rodman Moorhead.

Rod capped an accomplished career, retiring from Warburg Pincus & Co., as a general partner and managing director of the private equity and venture capital firm.

His concern for the course of world events and for journalists working in risky environments shone through during his tenure on ICFJ’s Board of Directors. Rod, who earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, also brought his talents and experience to our board’s finance committee. He was an energetic vice chair of ICFJ’s It Takes A Journalist campaign, our initiative to quickly deploy support to the 177,000 journalists in ICFJ’s vast global network. ICFJ stands on a firmer foundation because of Rod’s fiscal leadership and support.

In addition to Rod’s stalwart support for ICFJ, he and his wife, Alice, demonstrated their convictions about the value of education, affordable health care and their concern for the environment through their notable philanthropic pursuits.

The staff of ICFJ will strive to honor Rod’s dedication to our organization and mission as we move forward. We offer our sincerest condolences to Alice, their children and their many friends.
