Egyptian citizen journalists are invited to apply for an online course, entitled “Building News Websites.” The course was led by Hoda Osman who is a NY-based reporter.

This course brought together the most up-to-date research and reporting with a select group of international journalists committed to working together in dialogue to provide fair and accurate coverage of the people, beliefs, policies and practices shaping the political life of nations throughout the world.

The program will allow five U.S. journalists and four global journalists (from Africa, Asia and Europe) to travel to Thailand for a five-day study tour focusing on the causes, treatments, prevention and impact of malaria in Asia and around the globe. The dates of this trip will be Nov. 1-7, 2015.

Though the results of the 2012 U.S. Presidential elections were announced to the world on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 49 foreign journalists were able to provide first-hand reports on the outcome to their readers, listeners and viewers in their home countries. This opportunity came from their participation in The Elections 2012 Visiting Journalists Program.

Readers and listeners all over the world enjoyed special insight into the U.S. presidential election as a result of the Elections 2008 Visiting Journalists Program, which brought 48 journalists from 46 countries to cover the historic campaign and vote.

To carry forward Hoge's legacy and his passion for journalistic integrity, ICFJ launched the Jim Hoge Legacy Fund. Through three-month reporting fellowships, the Fund supports rising news leaders at home and abroad, helping the next generation of journalists safely and effectively report on pressing global issues, from disinformation to climate change to rising authoritarianism.
