Training the Next Generation of Malian Media Professionals

In partnership with the U.S. State Department, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) brought four Malian journalists to the United States for a professional internship program. The visiting journalists had the opportunity to observe U.S. newsrooms operations as well as learn new skills to enhance their journalism careers. The program sought to accomplish the following: to demonstrate U.S. and international journalistic practices and ethics through practical, hands-on experience.

HIV Prevention Reporting Fellowship

The world has made major progress on HIV, notably in sub-Saharan Africa, where the HIV burden is greatest. Increased access to lifesaving treatment and prevention options has led to a steady decline in AIDS-related deaths and HIV incidence. Efforts are underway to build on these gains and expand access to proven tools, including approaches that protect vulnerable populations by preventing new HIV infections.

Encourager les réformes juridiques dans le secteur des le secteur des médias et renforcer les organisations de médias au Sénégal

Le Centre international pour les journalistes (ICFJ) a lancé un programme en partenariat avec le plus important syndicat de journalistes au Sénégal. Il s’agit d’un projet dont l’objectif est d’appuyer les professionnels des médias, en vue de travailler avec plus d’efficacité dans la promotion des libertés et la protection des journalistes.

Le programme, démarré en octobre 2009, dure trente mois.
