Arthur F. Burns Fellowship

Each year, outstanding media professionals from the United States, Canada and Germany are awarded an opportunity to report from and travel in each other's countries as part of The Arthur F. Burns Fellowship Program. The program offers young journalists, age 40 and under, the opportunity to share professional expertise with their colleagues across the Atlantic while working as "foreign correspondents" for their hometown news organizations.

The Tsinghua Global Business Journalism Program (GBJ)

2017 Fall semester students visit the Beijing Review with Rick Dunham, GBJ Program Co-Director

Students selected for the Global Business Journalism Program (GBJ) learn how to cover global economics, financial markets and companies, with a spotlight on the China experience. All courses in the master's degree program are taught in English by renowned scholars and top foreign correspondents and journalists. Special attention is given to comparative studies of Chinese and Western stocks, bonds, currencies and government policies. Courses emphasize practical, hands-on training.

2025 News Corp Media Fellowship for Digital Innovation

In collaboration with News Corp and The Wall Street Journal, ICFJ is offering journalists from around the world an opportunity to sharpen their digital journalism skills, as well as support to develop data- and/or digitally-driven projects. The 2025 News Corp Media Fellowship program includes digital innovation training, grant funding and exclusive newsroom placement with WSJ. It builds on previous iterations of the Fellowship, which since 2014 has offered journalists an immersive experience in some of the world’s most digitally advanced newsrooms.

IJNet Pamela Howard Forum on Crisis Reporting

Disinformation, disease, climate change,  rising authoritarianism, financial crises, technology disruptions – these are just some of the challenges facing our world, and they do not stop at any border. Trained journalists, who understand how to effectively cover these seismic and overlapping events, are vital to finding solutions. The IJNet Pamela Howard Forum on Crisis Reporting, a project of ICFJ, was designed to equip journalists with the expertise to provide meaningful coverage of critical global issues of local importance.

ICFJ International Scholarships for ASU's Howard Center for Investigative Journalism Editing Program

With funding from the Scripps Howard Foundation, ICFJ is offering full scholarships for international applicants to Arizona State University's (ASU) elite Howard Center for Investigative Editing Program.

If selected for a scholarship, recipients will participate in a 12-week online course led by the award-winning professional faculty of ASU's Walter Cronkite

Emerging Media Leaders is a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by ICFJ. This Professional Fellows Program (PFP) is an exchange program for media professionals (journalists, technologists, and media entrepreneurs) from Latin America and the Caribbean to harness the power of digital tools and create viable news businesses that provide news and information in the public interest.
