ICFJ Team Wins Community Award from Online News Association for Forum Providing Resources, Support to Reporters Covering COVID-19

The Online News Association (ONA) today honored the team behind the ICFJ Global Health Crisis Reporting Forum with its 2021 Community Award. The award recognizes Stella Roque, director of community engagement, and community managers Paul Adepoju, Kossi Balao, Desirée Esquivel, Fadwa Kamal and Alexandre Orrico for developing a comprehensive program that supports journalists covering the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adepa, ICFJ y Facebook Journalism Project Lanzan Impulso Local 2021, un Programa de Apoyo al Periodismo en Argentina

Impulso local es un programa que brinda mentorías y fondos por un total de un millón de dólares estadounidenses a 100 medios de alcance hiperlocal, local y regional de Argentina. Este programa —que promueven la Asociación de Entidades Periodísticas Argentinas (Adepa), el Centro Internacional para Periodistas (ICFJ, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Facebook Journalism Project, y cuenta con la colaboración de la Asociación de Diarios del Interior de la República Argentina (ADIRA)— pondrá a disposición de los medios de todo el país recursos para que desarrollen un proyecto de corto plazo que resulte estratégico para su sustentabilidad, y así continuar sirviendo a sus comunidades con noticias e información de calidad.

ICFJ Remembers Intrepid Journalist and Advisory Board Member Seymour Topping

The International Center for Journalists mourns the loss of Seymour “Top” Topping, a legendary war reporter and New York Times editor, and longtime member of ICFJ’s advisory board. He passed away Nov. 8 at the age of 98 in White Plains, N.Y.
